Aspen Learning Launches OpenClassroom Server for School-wide Use

New Appliance Fosters 21st Century Skills and Learning In Classrooms Across any School Building

SEATTLE (NSBA, T + L Conference) and PALO ALTO, Calif. – October 28, 2008 – Aspen Learning, Inc, an education technology provider, today launched a new model of its OpenClassroom Server (OCS) designed to support school-wide use. OCS-School delivers a suite of learning management tools and web 2.0 applications for collaborative learning throughout any school setting, or from home. It accommodates up to 1,000 students, with more power and personal storage space than OCS-Classroom, which serves up to 200 students. In addition, both products benefit by new software enhancements added to facilitate assessment and file sharing.

OCS-School is a self-contained, robust appliance designed for the server room of any school building. It features a 2.83 GHz Intel Core 2 Quad processor, one terabyte of hard disk storage, and 2 GB of RAM storage. The school and classroom models of OpenClassroom Server each operate in a networked environment from any browser-based device, offering a safe and easy-to-use solution for collaboration and learning management.

To complement its existing library of web 2.0 collaboration, learning management, and communication offerings, Aspen Learning has added a quiz module with built-in auto grading and reporting features. Both appliances also provide desktop file sharing support through the Samba protocol.

Pricing and Availability
OCS-School is now available for $3,500 plus shipping. OCS-Classroom is available for $1,200 plus shipping.
